Cayce began taking riding lessons at the age of ten in her hometown of Chicago, and she quickly knew horses would play a vital role in her life. As a junior rider, Cayce trained under the guidance of Alex Jayne and Missy Clark. During this time, she went on to win major titles including Small Junior Hunter National Champion, individual gold at the North American Young Rider Championships, and fourth place in the WIHS Equitation Finals. Cayce’s amateur years were spent under the instruction of one of the sport’s most esteemed riders, McLain Ward. During this stage of her career, Cayce obtained top 10 placings in grand prix classes across the nation including the Winter Equestrian Festival, the Global Champions Tour, and Spruce Meadows. After such results, she was awarded the Maxine Beard Show Jumping Developing Rider Award by the USET Foundation, an honor she treasures.

Cayce attended Sarah Lawrence College where she studied social science and photography. After graduating, she took over running Double H Farm alongside her husband, Quentin. While she no longer competes, she still rides for fun and participates in the sport through her role as Director of Double H Farm’s operations. Cayce has been integral to the development and renovation of every property owned by Double H, and is currently working on construction projects in Pound Ridge, New York as well as a new property in Wellington, Florida.

A mother of two, Cayce loves spending time with her children, Rhodes and June. Outside of the equestrian sport, philanthropy is important to Cayce, and she has often found a way to combine these interests. Double H Farm has hosted many clinics and events to support causes close to their hearts. Cayce and Quentin have twice hosted “Anne’s Night” on their farm, honoring the legacy of the late horseman Anne Hyman and supporting the Agahozo-Shalom youth village in Rwanda.

Besides her success as a show jumper, Cayce is a passionate amateur dart player. She can often be found watching reruns of Friday Night Lights and lives by the motto “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.”
