HH Ciske van Overis

Ciske joined the stable in 2011. Very quickly, she was sidelined by a soft tissue injury that proved difficult to heal. After worries she might not return to the top sport, Ciske spent two years recovering and rehabilitating before a triumphant return to the grand prix ring. With rider Maggie McAlary, they earned top placings in numerous grands prix classes and represented the United States on the Nations Cup team at CSIO5* Spruce Meadows. Ciske, or “Cissy,” is the kindest mare with a heart of gold and is an extremely beloved member of our team. She is currently enjoying her retirement as a mom at the Overis stud farm in Belgium where she was born and raised. Now, Ciske and her mother, Umberta van Overis, live together in the same beautiful pasture.
