Double H bought “Abe” as a young horse after his first season in the pre-green hunters. Abe was that special kind of Thoroughbred who excelled in the hunter division. His light frame, beautiful jump, and fluid movement helped him shine in the show ring. Cayce campaigned Abe in the large junior hunters while Louise Serio took him around the first-year greens and professional hunter divisions. When Socrates was sold to Addison Philipps a few years later, they excelled together and earned championships in the large junior hunters at Washington International Horse Show, the Hampton Classic, and the Pennsylvania National Horse Show.
